Now Available: Updated Technical Release Notes for the 2026 Performance Period eCQMs for Eligible Clinicians

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has updated and re-published the  Technical Release Notes (TRNs) for the 2026 Performance Period Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs) for Eligible Clinicians. The Technical Release Notes are resource files, which provide an overview of technical changes, e.g., logic and terminology, for each eCQM in the most recent eCQM Annual Update for CMS reporting/performance periods. Updates to the TRNs correct inaccuracies in the original TRNs, posted in May 2025. Please note, eCQM specifications or value sets published on the Value Set Authority Center have not been revised from the May 2025 publication. These TRNs supplement eCQM specifications and should not be used in place of the eCQM specifications for reporting purposes.
