Ways to engage with the eCQI community

The federal government and private stakeholders provide opportunities for stakeholders to actively engage in eCQI efforts through open meetings, public comment periods, expert panels, and educational events. Select the user type you most associate yourself with and the table will sort opportunities that may be of interest to you.

CDS Connect Receive occasional updates regarding open-source, freely available CDS Connect tools—including a repository of clinical decision support (CDS) artifacts, authoring tool for creation of CDS, and prototype development tools for testing and integrating CDS into health systems. X X
CMS Measures Management System Listserv Provides periodic e-mail newsletters with information on CMS quality measures, updates to the MMS web pages, and other CMS news. X X X
CMS Measures Management System Webpage Provides several opportunities for input on eCQM development and updates through public calls for measures, comments on measures under development, technical expert panels, and public comments X X X X
CMS Partner Call Provides national stakeholder organizations and specialty societies such as AHA, AMA, NQF, NCQA, TJC, etc. with an opportunity to provide feedback. This every other month eCQI-based call is led by CMS staff. Email CMS Partner Support to be added to the invite. Note: This meeting is not for individual clinicians or hospitals, but for societies and associations representing them. X
CMS Vendor Call Provides health information technology (IT) vendors with an opportunity to provide feedback. This monthly eCQI-based call is led by CMS staff. Email CMS Vendor Support to be added to the invite. X
Cypress Tech Talks Provides ability to discuss the eCQM certification tool and/or implementation questions. Meets bi-weekly. Submit topics to the Cypress Talk List. X X
eCQI Resource Center Provides update notifications regarding eCQI news, events, and tool announcements. Create a user account and self-select items of interest to receive notifications. X X X X
HL7 CDS Work Group Focuses on the development of standards to support system-agnostic implementation of clinical decision support (CDS), including messages, services, information models, and knowledge representation formalisms. Meets every Wednesday from 12 to 1 pm Eastern. X X
HL7 Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) Work Group Creates and maintains information technology standards in support of improving healthcare quality, including clinical care, and fostering collaboration between quality measurement, outcomes, and improvement stakeholders. Meets every Friday from 1 to 3 pm Eastern. X X X
Measure Collaboration (MC) Workspace Provides resources, tools, and processes to promote transparency and improve interaction across stakeholder communities that develop, implement, and report eCQMs. X X X

Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Clinical Decision Support Learning Network (PCOR CDS-LN) The Patient-Centered Clinical Decision Support Learning Network (PCCDS-LN) addresses barriers to the effective use of PCOR findings to improve patient outcomes by ensuring that the findings are incorporated widely into clinical practice through the assistance of clinical decision support (CDS). Its initial focus is on providing a forum for stakeholders to assess both barriers and facilitators to implementing PCOR findings in CDS and make recommendations for optimizing PCOR-enabled CDS to facilitate improvements in care and outcomes. This collaborative work will establish a springboard for successfully executing the recommendations in a manner that addresses stakeholder needs and constraints. X X X

Value Set Authority Center (VSAC) Collaboration Provides a central site where value set authors can post value sets for collaborative discussion. In that site, teams can share threaded discussions about the value sets, view recent value set expansions posted by site members, organize their value sets. X X X X
Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) FHIR is the next generation exchange framework being adopted by the healthcare community to advance interoperability. The FHIR Confluence site provides information about a variety of FHIR-related activities. X X X X X
