Ways to engage with the eCQI community

The federal government and other stakeholders provide opportunities to actively engage in eCQI efforts through open meetings, public comment periods, expert panels, and educational events. Select the user type you most associate yourself with and the table will filter opportunities that may be of interest to you.

CDS Connect

Receive occasional updates regarding open-source, freely available CDS Connect tools—including a repository of clinical decision support (CDS) artifacts, authoring tool for creation of CDS, and prototype development tools for testing and integrating CDS into health systems.

CMS Measures Management System (MMS) Email List

Provides periodic e-mail newsletters with information on CMS quality measures, updates to the MMS webpages, and other CMS news.

CMS Measures Management System (MMS) Webpages

Provides several opportunities for input on eCQM development and updates through public calls for measures, comments on measures under development, technical expert panels, and public comments

CMS Quality Programs Bi-Monthly Forum

Features presentations that provide timely updates to national stakeholder organizations, specialty societies, health IT organizations and EHR vendors on new information relevant to CMS’s quality programs. Contact

Cypress Tech Talks

Provides ability to discuss the eCQM certification tool and/or implementation questions. Meets bi-weekly. Submit topics to the Cypress Talk List.

eCQI Resource Center

Provides update notifications regarding eCQI news, events, and tool announcements. Create a user account and self-select items of interest to receive notifications.

eCQI Resource Center User Group

Volunteer forum of eCQI Resource Center users that use the site to obtain resources necessary for electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) development, implementation, reporting, and education on key eCQM and eCQI concepts and standards. The eCQI Resource Center User Group meets bi-monthly at 3:00pm EST on the third Tuesday.  

Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®)

FHIR is the next generation exchange framework being adopted by the healthcare community to advance interoperability. The FHIR Confluence site provides information about a variety of FHIR-related activities.

HL7 CDS Work Group

Focuses on the development of standards to support system-agnostic implementation of clinical decision support (CDS), including messages, services, information models, and knowledge representation formalisms. Meets every Wednesday from 12 to 1 pm Eastern.

HL7 Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) Work Group

Creates and maintains information technology standards in support of improving healthcare quality, including clinical care, and fostering collaboration between quality measurement, outcomes, and improvement stakeholders. Meets every Friday from 1 to 3 pm Eastern.

Measure Collaboration (MC) Workspace

Provides resources, tools, and processes to promote transparency and improve interaction across stakeholder communities that develop, implement, and report eCQMs.

National Quality Forum (NQF)

QDM User Group

Discusses the Quality Data Model's (QDM’s) use for measure development, measure implementation, consensus-based standards process, and alignment with related standards. Visit the QDM events page for meeting specifics and send an email to

Value Set Authority Center (VSAC) Collaboration

Provides a central site where value set authors can post value sets for collaborative discussion. In that site, teams can share threaded discussions about the value sets, view recent value set expansions posted by site members, organize their value sets.
