CMS Announces the CY 2024 OPPS Proposed Rule
CMS Announces Calendar Year (CY) 2024 Medicare Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Payment System Proposed Rule.

On July 13, 2023, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the proposed Medicare payment rates for hospital outpatient and ASC services.
Each year, CMS issues a proposed rule to update CY Medicare payment policies and rates under the OPPS. The CY 2024 Hospital OPPS/ASC Proposed Rule is scheduled to be published on July 31, 2023.

A display copy of the proposed rule is available online at the website of the Office of the Federal Register. CMS welcomes public comment on these proposals. The public comment period will end on September 11, 2023.
