Now Available: CMS QRDA I Conformance Statement Resource for 2020 Hospital Quality Reporting and New QRDA Known Issues ONC Project Tracking System (Jira) Project

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has updated the Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA) Category I Conformance Statement Resource to support calendar year (CY) 2020 electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) reporting for the:

QRDA error messages are identified with a conformance (CONF) statement, or system-requirement specification, and corresponding CONF number which provides a high-level explanation of why a test or production QRDA I file was rejected and unable to be processed by the Hospital Quality Reporting (HQR) System.

The Conformance Statement Resource assists data submitters by providing detailed information on how to troubleshoot the most common conformance errors and how to resolve the errors causing rejection of the file.

Testing QRDA I Files:

  • HQR System – The HQR System will begin receiving test and production file submissions for the 2020 reporting period this Fall.
  • Cypress provides implementers with the ability to validate the conformance of QRDA Category I and Category III documents.

CMS has created a new Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA) Known Issues project for both QRDA I and QRDA III on the Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) Project Tracking System (Jira) website. QRDA Known Issues provide supplemental implementation information for QRDA Implementation Guides (IGs) or supporting documents with known technical issues for which a solution is under development but may not yet be available. This includes issues such as discrepancies between conformance assertions and message text, non-critical conformance assertion errors, and typographical errors.

Jira serves as a collaborative workspace for users to log, prioritize, and discuss issues. Stakeholders can submit issues for review by subject matter experts. You must have a Jira account to create content or to track existing issues.
