eCQM

An electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) is a clinical quality measure expressed and formatted to use data from electronic health records (EHR) and/or health information technology systems to measure healthcare quality, ideally data captured in structured form during the process of patient care. For the eCQM to be reported from an EHR, the Health Quality Measure Format (HQMF) is used to format the eCQM content using the Quality Data Model (QDM) to define the data elements and Clinical Quality Language (CQL) to express the logic needed to evaluate a provider or organization’s performance.
