eCQM

An electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) is a clinical quality measure expressed and formatted to use data from EHRs and/or health information technology systems to measure healthcare quality, ideally data captured in structured form during the process of patient care. For the measured entity to report an eCQM from an EHR, eCQM developers format the Health Quality Measure Format (HQMF) using the Quality Data Model (QDM) to define the data elements and CQL to express the logic needed to evaluate a provider or organization’s performance.
