The Future of Clinical Decision Support
This session will cover three topics important to the future of clinical decision support. The first part is a look into progress in CDS development since the 2016 National Academy of Medicine report on CDS and the history of CDS innovation. It will include information on CDS policy including promoting interoperability, the utility of CDS, and how to sell it and make it important. The second part will look into patient-centered CDS, focusing on the work of AHRQ’s Clinical Decision Support Innovation Collaborative. The third part will discuss ways to incorporate CDS into new topic areas such as social determinants of health, cancer screening, and other areas.
