What is ELM and what is the advantage of using it?
Expression Logical Model (ELM) is the machine-readable representation of Clinical Quality Language (CQL) logic used in QMs. ELM provides the information needed for software to process and evaluate measure logic and is available in XML (.xml) and JSON (.json) formats. The advantage of ELM is that it translates complex CQL expressions into a standardized format that can be used consistently by implementation and execution tools, reducing the need for developers to interpret or process CQL directly. Refer to the CQL Educational Resources page for additional guidance.
