2023 OQR Program Candidate eCQMs About Tab

Program Candidate eCQMs are eCQMs not yet adopted for use in a CMS quality reporting program. The eCQM specifications use versions of standards and tools designated for a specific reporting/performance period. Program Candidate eCQMs are not eligible for CMS quality reporting until CMS proposes and finalizes through notice-and-comment rulemaking for each applicable program.

In the CY 2022 proposed and final rules, the CMS Outpatient Quality Reporting program adopted one eCQM for voluntary reporting for the CY 2023 reporting period and mandatory reporting beginning with the CY 2024 reporting period
