QI-Core

The Quality Improvement Core (QI-Core) Implementation Guide (IG) is a specialized Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources® (FHIR®) IG that provides a standardized set of data elements and structures to support digital quality measures (dQMs) and other quality improvement initiatives in healthcare. It is built on the FHIR framework to ensure that data can be consistently captured, exchanged, and interpreted across different electronic health record (EHR) systems.  QI-Core is closely aligned with QDM concepts, translating them into FHIR resources. Basically, QI-Core IG is a “bridge” between the data needed for quality measures and FHIR-based health information technology (IT) systems, making it easier to implement and share standardized quality data.
