Now Accepting Public Comments through March 28, 2024 on the Draft 2025 CMS QRDA I Implementation Guide and Schematron for Hospital Quality Reporting

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has posted the draft 2025 CMS Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA) Category I Implementation Guide (IG) and Schematron for Hospital Quality Reporting (HQR). The public comment period begins on March 7, 2024, and ends at 5 p.m. eastern time (ET) on March 28, 2024.

The 2025 CMS QRDA I IG outlines requirements for eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals to report electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) for the calendar year 2025 reporting period. The 2025 CMS QRDA I IG uses the same base Health Level Seven International® (HL7) QRDA I standard as the 2024 CMS QRDA I IG.

Changes to the draft 2025 CMS QRDA I IG:
•    Updates to support the 2025 reporting period
•    Updates validation rule CMS_0084 on the Medicare Beneficiary Identification Number (MBI) requirement for hybrid measures
•    Removal of section 6.1 Submitting the encounter id associated with a CCDE

Instructions for submitting comments:

•    You must have a JIRA account to submit a comment
•    We are accepting comments until 5:00 p.m. ET on March 28, 2024
