Now Accepting Public Comments on the Draft 2025 CMS QRDA III Implementation Guide and Schematron for Eligible Clinician Programs
The draft 2025 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA) Category III Implementation Guide (IG) and Schematron for Eligible Clinician (EC) Programs are available for public comment starting on June 10, 2024, and closing at 5 pm eastern time (ET) on July 1, 2024.
The 2025 CMS QRDA III IG outlines requirements for ECs to report electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) for the calendar year 2025 performance period. Visit the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) Project Tracking System (Jira) website to submit public comments.
Changes to the draft 2025 CMS QRDA III IG:
- Added support for the Making Care Primary (MCP) model.
- Updated to require the CMS Electronic Health Record (EHR) Certification ID for the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Quality performance category from optional.
- Updated the QRDA Category III Report – CMS template from V8 to V9 to support the MCP model and the CMS EHR Certification ID requirement change for the MIPS Quality performance category.
- Updated the UUID List table to include the MIPS CY2025 performance period eCQM specifications for ECs.
Changes to the draft 2025 CMS QRDA III Schematron
- Updated to support conformance statement updates as outlined in this version of the IG.
