CMS HL7 FHIR Connectathon 3 - Call for Participation!

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is proud to bring together stakeholders for the third CMS HL7 FHIR Connectathon taking place between July 19 – 21, 2022. This virtual and FREE 3-day event will provide interoperability policy updates and the “FHIR Implementation Guides that help systems meet those policies” on July 19th. During July 20-21st the industry will participate in “testing opportunities for FHIR server and application developers who are working to support better patient access, health equity, and data access for the healthcare industry.”

The eCQM Standards team will help support the Clinical Quality Improvement Track and focus on engaging with FHIR service implementations to help test and demonstrate the ability to calculate FHIR-based electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs) by accessing data available from standard US Core 3.1.1 compliant FHIR services.

If your FHIR server supports US Core, come try it out at the Clinical Quality Improvement Track! We will be testing both CMS and HEDIS FHIR-based eCQMs and gathering feedback on the specifications. Participating servers will have the opportunity to demonstrate functionality as part of the track highlights.

Registration for this event will close on May 31st and an Information Session will be held on June 8th at 4 pm ET (note: the entire event will be held in Eastern Time).

New Attendees
If you have not previously attended a Connectathon, HL7 has recorded an orientation session that covers the basics of FHIR, how to read an IG, the US Core profile, FHIR testing, tools and what to expect at a Connectathon.

Lastly, if you are interested in participating, would like to lead a session during the track, have a request for a session topic, would like to be added to the meeting invites, and/or have any further questions, please e-mail fhir@icf.com.
