The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) invites you to a webinar titled “Clinical Quality Language (CQL) for Clinicians and Quality Professionals: What it Means for You.” The CQL standard (CQL Release 1, Standard for Trial Use (STU) 2) is a Health Level Seven International standard that aims to unify the expression of logic for electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQM) and clinical decision support.

The federal government and private stakeholders provide opportunities for stakeholders to actively engage in eCQI efforts through open meetings, public comment periods, expert panels, and educational events. Select the user type you most associate yourself with and the table will sort opportunities they may be of interest to you.

Electronic Clinical Quality Improvment (eCQI)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) are working to improve the health of our nation by transforming care from a volume-based, provider-centered system to a patient-centered, learning health system. This work includes using quality measurement to improve care given to patients by measuring how patients are treated and, most importantly, how well those patients do afterward.

“Adapting Clinical Guidelines for the Digital Age” is a CDC-driven initiative to improve patient care and health outcomes by working to ensure that clinical guidelines are not just evidenced-based, but are used in practice. Because there are multiple roles in developing and disseminating clinical guidelines, we must get a comprehensive understanding of the current challenges in translating guidelines in order to develop a standardized process for the future.
