Now Available: 2027 CMS QRDA I Implementation Guide (IG), Schematron, and Sample Files for Hospital Quality Reporting (HQR)
The 2027 CMS QRDA I IG defines the technical requirements hospitals must follow when submitting electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) for the Calendar Year (CY) 2027 performance period. These specifications support standardized, structured reporting of quality data from certified electronic health record (EHR) technology to CMS.
High-Level Changes in the 2027 CMS QRDA I IG (Compared to the 2026 IG, Version 1.0):
- Updated the IG to include Rural Emergency Hospital Quality Reporting Program (REHQR)
- Updated HQR validation rule CMS_0082 for CMS EHR Certification ID format starts with “2027C”
- Updated the HQR validation rule CMS_0089 to include REHQR
Updates to the 2027 CMS QRDA I Schematron Files:
- Updated assertion rules related to CMS_0123
- Updated QRDA Category I Report CMS V10 template extension to 2026-05-01
- Updated vocabulary file (voc.xml) to include code HQR_REHQR and display name for Rural Emergency Hospital Quality Reporting Program in CMS Program Name
Updates to the 2027 CMS QRDA I Sample Files:
- Added new REHQR sample file
- Updated eCQM information to align with the updated versions for the 2027 reporting period.
