Each year, CMS updates the electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) for potential use in CMS quality reporting programs and publishes them on the eCQI Resource Center. CMS updates the specifications annually to align with current clinical guidelines and code systems so they remain relevant and actionable within the clinical care setting. CMS requires the use of the most current version of the eCQMs as specified and intended for the applicable reporting periods for all quality reporting programs. Find additional information on Hospital OQR measures on QualityNet.

CMS developed and finalized specifications for the ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) for use in the Hospital Outpatient Quality Reporting (OQR) Program beginning with the voluntary calendar year (CY) 2023 reporting period followed by mandatory CY 2024 reporting period and subsequent years.

For hospital outpatient reporting guidance, visit QualityNet and the Quality Reporting Center for specific program reporting education.

Submit questions about the use of this eCQM in the CMS Hospital OQR Program to the QualityNet Question Answer Site.

Submit questions related to the OQR eCQM specifications, logic, data elements, standards, or resources in the eCQM Tracker - ONC Project Tracking System (Jira).
