Joint Commission Call for Pioneers in Quality Proven Practices Submissions

March 14, 2018 - 11:18am

To facilitate peer-to-peer sharing of proven eCQMinfo-icon practices, The Joint Commission seeks eCQM success stories from its accredited hospitals and health systems to feature as part of the "Pioneers in Qualityinfo-icon™: Proven Practices Collection." This program enables us to recognize hospitals and systems that effectively leverage eCQMsinfo-icon and health ITinfo-icon to drive quality improvement—and provide a platform for organizations to share their work as learning for other accredited organizations.

We invite you to submit your organization’s eCQM success stories for Proven Practice sharing and recognition. Potential topics to consider include:

- Using eCQMs as part of organizational quality improvement initiatives - Harmonizing clinical decision support and quality measurement - Optimizing clinical workflow and eCQM collection to support quality care - Improving or ensuring eCQM data quality and accuracy - Role of governance and structure in improving eCQM performance - Educating clinicians on quality improvement and electronic data collection

Your organization’s practice should be clearly linked to the use of eCQMs and health IT for quality improvement but does not have to describe an entire implementation program. For example, your organization may have developed a specific technology, clinical or business tool, or a process or procedure, that has proven highly effective in your eCQM adoption and quality efforts. That is the type of a practice we seek for Proven Practice submission.

In addition to describing your Proven Practice, your submission should describe 1) how the practices or systems your organization has implemented have succeeded, and 2) how data are being used, whether internally and externally—for example how eCQM data and analysis have affected clinical practice.

Enter your eCQM success stories before April 13, 2018 to be considered for recognition for the 2018 Pioneers in Quality™: Proven Practices Collection.

Organizations that submit selected practices will be recognized on the Joint Commission website. Several will be selected for recognition as 2018 Pioneers in Quality Expert Contributors based on the quality of their submissions and practices. These Expert Contributors will be asked to present their Proven Practices to a national audience as part of The Joint Commission’s Pioneers in Quality™ webinar series. You can watch webinar replays of our 2017 Expert Contributors who presented their practices addressing:
