What is Clinical Quality Language (CQL)?

Clinical Quality Language (CQL) is an HL7 draft standard for trial use (DSTU). It is part of the effort to harmonize standards between electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) and clinical decision support (CDS). CQL provides the ability to express logic that is human readable yet structured enough for processing a query electronically.

CY 2017 eCQM Resources and Tools Now Available

In response to provider need, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has developed and posted updated resources to assist with the reporting of calendar year (CY) 2017 electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) data for the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) Program and the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program for eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals. FY 2018 IPPS Proposed Rule Published, Open for Public Comment

On April 28, 2017, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) fiscal year (FY) 2018 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) and the Long-Term Care Hospital (LTCH) Prospective Payment System (PPS) Proposed Rule published in the Federal Register (82 FR 19796). The FY 2018 IPPS Proposed Rule initially went on display at the Office of the Federal Register Public Inspection Desk on April 14, 2017.
