CMS Displays the Calendar Year 2027 Proposed Rule

Announcing the Display of the Calendar Year (CY) 2027 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Payment System Proposed Rule

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Calendar Year (CY) 2027 Hospital OPPS/ASC Payment System Proposed Rule was displayed on the website of the Federal Register on July 2, 2026.

CMS issued a proposed rule to update Medicare payment rates and policies furnished under the OPPS/ASC payment system, including those which relate to the Hospital Outpatient Quality Reporting (OQR), Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) Quality Reporting, and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Quality Reporting Programs. CMS welcomes public comment on these proposals via online submission or mail until the end of the public comment period on August 31, 2026.
